Working Woman Wednesday: A Love Letter

Valentine’s Day has always been a favorite holiday of mine. Not just for the flowers or chocolate, but the most important gift of all: self love. This year, it falls on a Wednesday! So I’m bringing a special edition of Working Woman Wednesday to you today, lovelies. I get dressed in the morning to please myself only, and today is no exception. My red A-line dress is from Amazon, surprise surprise! My mom bought it for me a couple of Christmases ago, and I’ve been waiting for just the right moment to wear it. I love the vintage feel to the silhouette and neckline, it’s universally flattering for pretty much any body type. I don’t wear red often, but I try to make a statement when I do!

My white cardigan is an oldie-but-goodie from JCPenney. I worked there years ago (when the clothes were actually cute *eyeroll*), and bought it on clearance for super cheap. This falls in line with the massive collection of basic attire I have in my closet, as it can be worn with everything. It pairs well with this dress and helps to keep me warm in my ridiculously cold office suite.

As for my accessories, my watch is from Charming Charlie (super old, but still cute!). I needed daintier pieces to wear today, as my attire is a bit dressed up, so this watch is perfect for my little wrist. My black belt is from Forever21. My real pearls are actually my mom’s, I just borrowed them for today (even though I’m always browsing her jewelry armoire for the goods lol). It’s always good to have at least one string of good pearls in your jewelry box, real or faux. Pearls with this dress add to the vintage vibe of this look, and gives it serious Audrey Hepburn teas. My shoes are super old, from Payless, but they’re really comfortable too.

Today is all about us, my working women. We show love and support for our friends, family, and significant others on the other 364 days of the year (at least, we should be), but we often neglect ourselves. We must take the time to treat ourselves with kindness, respect, and give as much energy to self-care as we put into our work every day. Buy that new dress because it makes YOU feel good. Take yourself out tonight because YOU want to eat good and feel yourself. Regardless of the people and situations in your life, self-love is always the best love. Stay blessed, stay beautiful, and enjoy love day.

Love, NaturallyKam
